My Bonnie (Mein Herz Ist Bai Dir Nur) / The Saints (When The Saints Go Marching In), Polydor NH 24673. German import. This single has German intro for “My Bonnie”. This is the first official publication of The Beatles. With this single Brian Epstein to learn about The Beatles. In late 1961, Brian worked as manager of NEMS music store in Liverpool. October 28, 1961 regular customer Raymond Jones asked for this single. Braen found this single in the catalog import. He is very surprised when he learned that The Beatles are a group of Liverpool. The recording was made in Harburg’s Friedrich-Ebert-Halle on June 22 & 23, 1961.

1. First pressing, October 23, 1961. Original Polydor company orange German sleeves have “Printed In Germany” and other German text on the back side.

First pressing has orang “scroll” labels with music style definition as “Rock” (second pressing has music style definition as “Twist”). The label lists the artists as Tony Sheridan & The Beat Brothers. “GEMA/BIEM” credits indicates what company is responsible for the copyright payments for the material released on the record to the proper publishers. Matrix numbers: Side One: 24673-2A; Side Two: 24673-2B.

2. Second pressing, March 1964. German import. Original picture German sleeve.

Red labels with black half-circle logos. The label lists the artists as The Beatles with Tony Sheridan.

My Bonnie. With German intro. Tony Sheridan’s recording features Sheridan on lead vocal, lead and rhythm guitar, John hand clapping, Paul on bass, George lead and rhythm guitar, Pete Best on drums. John and Paul also provide backing vocals.

The Saints. Tony Sheridan on lead vocal and rhythm guitar, John on rhythm guitar, Paul on bass, George lead guitar, Pete Best on drums.
