Something New, Parlophone CPCS 101.

Something New, Parlophone CPCS 101, end of 1964, stereo only. Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. front laminated flipback sleeve, mid-sized “stereo” on front. Black & Yellow Parlophone label with “The Parlophone Co. Ltd.” perimeter print. Tracing-paper-lined “Use Emitex” die-cut inner sleeve. Matrix numbers: Side 1: YEEX 7-B12; Side 2: YEEX 8-B12.

One of the first Beatles LPs pressed up for export outside of the UK, and it went mostly to Sweden. This English version of “Something New” has the same track list as the American version. But the song “Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand” (I Want To Hold Your Hand) officially published in England on the album “Rarities”, in 1978.

1. First pressing, end of 1964. The first copies of “Something New” has label error “Sold In UK …” and tax code “KT” by spin-hole. How many of these copies were made is not known.

Second label variation. The error was corrected very quickly.

Second pressing, 1965. Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. front laminated flipback sleeve, with mid-sized “stereo” on front. Black & Yellow Parlophone label with “The Gramophone Co. Ltd.” perimeter print. Tracing-paper-lined “Use Emitex” die-cut inner sleeve. Matrix numbers: Side 1: YEEX 7-B12; Side 2: YEEX 8-B12.

Third pressing, November 1969 until 1970. Black label with one silver EMI logo and silver print. “The Gramophone Co Ltd…” printed at the start perimeter print and “Made In GT. Britain” lower text. Sepia, black & white LP advertising or white paper “Patent…”  inner sleeves. Matrix numbers: Side 1: YEEX 7-B12; Side 2: YEEX 8-B12.

The Beatles’ Second Album, Parlophone CPCS 103, 1965, stereo only. First pressing. Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. front laminated flipback sleeve, small “stereo” on front. This English version of “The Beatles’ Second Album” has the same track list as the American version. But the stereo track of the “Thank You Girl” officially published in England on the album “Past Masters Vol. 1”, in 1988.

1. First pressing, 1965. Black & Yellow Parlophone label with “The Gramophone Co. Ltd.” perimeter print. Tracing-paper-lined “Use Emitex” die-cut inner sleeve. Matrix numbers: Side 1: YEEX 110-A9; Side 2: YEEX 111-A9.

Beatles VI, Parlophone CPCS 104.

Beatles VI, Parlophone, CPCS 104, 1966, stereo only. First pressing. Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. front laminated flipback sleeve, small “stereo” on front. This English version of “Beatles VI” has the same track list as the American version. But the song “Bad Boy” officially published in England on the album “A Collection Of Beatles Oldies”, in December, 1966.

1. First pressing, 1966. Black & Yellow label with “The Gramophone Co. Ltd.” perimeter print. Tracing-paper-lined “Use Emitex” die-cut inner sleeve. Matrix numbers: Side 1: YEEX 112-A15; Side 2: YEEX 113-A15. Some copies of the “Beatles VI” have the labels without the side numbers but with “KT” tax code.

The Beatles, Parlophone P-PCS 7067-8

The Beatles, Parlophone P-PCS 7067-8, stereo only, 1968. 2LP set. First pressing. Top opennig, gatefold and full laminated numbered sleeve with salient “The Beatles” on front. Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. The Set is the same as the original.

1. First Pressing, 1968. Black & Yellow label with “The Gramophone Co. Ltd.” Matrix numbers: Side 1: YEX 709-1; Side 2: YEX 710-1; Side 3: YEX 711-1; Side 4: YEX 712-1. Poster, four photos and black inner sleeves.

Few copies has label error “Sold In UK …” (on the Record 1 only?). How many of these copies were made is not known.
