EMI has released four albums of The Beatles on the colored vinyl in 1978. These editions are produced for export to the USA only. This is a limited and rare editions. The cause of these editions is not known. Possible it was dedicated to the 10th Anniversary of Apple Records. Was made only four albums: “Magical Mystery Tour”, “The Beatles” (“The White Album”), “Abbey Road” and “Let It Be”. Laqueur for these limited editions made Harry T. Moss – EMI studio cutting engineer who has prepared a soundtrack to “write” on the matrix of the first and second side plates. Usually from someone who does this job depends mainly on how this issue will be heard. Harry T. Moss initials (HTM) hand etched on the trail off areas of the records except the “White Album”. Harry T. Moss did matrices for almost all the Beatles albums but his initials began to appear in 1973.
Magical Mystery Tour, Parlophone PCTC 255, 1978, stereo only. US album version. Very limited edition. U.K. pressing. Yellow vinyl. Gatefold unlaminated Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. sleeve with 24-page stapled booklet. The booklet has been made in the USA that is confirmed “Printed in the USA” text in the white circle in the lower right corner on page 24.
Textur dlack label has silver print and 2EMI logos and “EMI RECORDS” and “GT. BRITAIN” rim print. The trail off areas have the hand etched matrix number YEX 959-PCTC 255 SIDE 1 and initials “HTM” on the side 1 and matrix number YEX 960-PCTC 255 SIDE 2 on the side 2.
The Beatles, Apple PСS 7067/7068, stereo only, 1978. 2LP set. Very limited edition. U.K. pressing. Side opennig, gatefold and full laminated unnumbered sleeve with salient “The Beatles” on front. Gatefold Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. sleeve. Set include: 4 Beatles portrait 28.8×20 cm. photos and 85,8 x57,2 cm. poster with the photo collage (first side) and lyrics (other side). The albums was in the original srink wrap with original “english flag” price sticker ($34,98).
