1. First pressing, June 25, 1976. The single was included in later re-issued “The Beatles’ Singles Collection″ blue box set (BSC-1), 1978. These pressings were housed in original top-opening sleeve with green front and pictures back.

Black label with silver EMI logo and silver print. “THE EMI RECORDS LTD…” printed at the start perimeter print and “MADE IN GT BRITAIN” printed at the end of the perimeter print. Matrix numbers: Side A: 7YCE 21787-1, Side B: 7YCE 21788-1.

2. Second pressing, December 6, 1982. From “The Beatles Singles Collection” blue box set (BSCP-1). These pressings have original top-opening pictures sleeve.

Same black label with silver EMI logo and silver print. “THE EMI RECORDS LTD…” printed at the start perimeter print and “MADE IN GT BRITAIN” printed at the end of the perimeter print. Matrix numbers: Side A: 7YCE 21787-1, Side B: 7YCE 21788-1.

3. Third pressing beginning of the 90s. The final pressing has silver label with black textur print and logo. Rimtext embossed on the trail off area. The rimtext wording is: “UNAUTHORISED COPYING, HIRING, RENTING, PUBLIC PERFORMANCE AND BROADCASTING…”. Housed in original plain black die-cut sleeve. Matrix numbers: Side A: 7YCE 21787-1-1-Q1, Side B: 7YCE 21788-1-1-Q1.

1. First pressing, May 24, 1982. The singles were included in “The Beatles’ Singles Collection″ blue box set, BSCP-1, 1982. These pressings were housed in  original top-opening pictures sleeves.

Black label with silver EMI logo and silver print. “ALL RIGHTS OF THE PRODUCER…” printed at the start perimeter print. Around the 11 ‘o’ clock position in the rimtext the wording is: “…UNAUTHORISED PUBLIC PERFORMANCE, BROADCASTING, COPYING AND HIRING…”. Instead, added “MANUFACTURED IN THE UK BY EMI RECORDS LIMITED” text at the end of the perimeter print. Matrix numbers: Side A: R6055 A-1, Side B: R6055 B-1.

Hey Jude / Revolution, Apple R 5722.

1. First pressing, August 30, 1968. It is first record of The Beatles on Apple Records. This is why Hey Jude and other Beatles 45s released with Apple labels in the U.K. have record numbers in Parlophone R 5000 series. The records were housed in glossy black sleeves with green Apple logos and with a die-cut circular opening on both sides. Early sleeves have wave cut at the top.

Dark green label with an image of an apple on side 1 and sliced apple on side 2. First label variation have “Sold In U.K. subject to resale price conditions, see price lists” text. Publishing year printed with small copyright symbol (p). The labels are quite dark although the actual shade of green varies greatly among copies. With or without KT or JKT tax code. Push-out or solid center. Matrix numbers: Side A: 7XCE.21185-1, Side B: 7XCE.21186-1.

6. Sixth pressing, August 30, 1988. 20th Anniversary edition. Light yellow-green lebels with solid center and original pictures sleeve.

Version 1: “An E.M.I. recording” large font.

Version 2: “An E.M.I. recording” small font.

7. Seventh pressing, August 30, 1988. 20th Anniversary 12″ single edition, Parlophone 12R5722. Black labels & silver print with small Parlophone logos, but without EMI logos. Sleeve design similar to the design of the sleeve 7 “single (see above), but has a different number. We do not know why this edition appeared on the Parlophone label, not the label, Apple. Maybe it was a mistake.

8. Eigth pressing, beginning of the 90s. The final pressing has silver label with black textur print and logo. Rimtext embossed on the trail off area. The rimtext wording is: “UNAUTHORISED COPYING, HIRING, RENTING, PUBLIC PERFORMANCE AND BROADCASTING…”. Matrix numbers: Side A: R5722 A-1-1-Q1, Side B: R5722 A-1-1-Q1.
